The Inman Friday Now Runs on a Three-Block Radius

For a long time, a summer Friday in Inman meant driving somewhere else. Spartanburg for a concert, Greer for the amphitheater, Landrum for a market. Downtown Inman had the bones of a walkable evening but not the anchor, and residents planned around that gap.

That is no longer true. Between the City of Inman Pavilion at 26 Mill Street and Holliday Brewing at 12 Prospect Street, a Friday night in Inman now runs on a three-block radius. The concert series pulls people to Mill Street from 6 to 9 p.m., and the block north on Prospect keeps them there afterward. Once you see the geometry, the rest of the summer schedule stops looking like a list of unrelated events and starts looking like one repeating loop.

The geometry, before the schedule

Two addresses do most of the work. The City of Inman Pavilion sits at 26 Mill Street, and Holliday Brewing is at 12 Prospect Street. Those points are a block apart. Main Street, where Cafe on Main, Old Town Pizza, The Fox Den Pub & Grill, and Inman Beer Vault sit within a short walk, cuts between them.

That matters because a summer Friday used to require two decisions: where to eat and where to go after. Now those decisions collapse into one small map. The concert is at the Pavilion. The brewery has 40 taps and a full kitchen. Main Street has the dinner options if you would rather eat before the music starts. Nothing on the loop asks you to get back in the car.

The Friday lineup, in the order it runs

Music on Mill is the reason the loop exists. It is a Friday concert series at the Pavilion, and the 2026 slate is a mix of variety acts, one classic-rock tribute, a Southern rock band, and one closer built around fireworks. Dates and acts, as posted by Main Street Inman:

The consistent shape is a 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. block at 26 Mill Street. If you show up at 6, you have caught the opening. If you show up at 7:30 after dinner on Main, you have not missed anything critical. The series is built for arriving late and leaving early without feeling like you have wasted the trip.

Why Holliday Brewing changes the second half

Before October 2023, the Friday concert night ended when the last set did. There was no obvious place within walking distance to keep going. Holliday Brewing changed that. The brothers moved operations from Drayton Mills to downtown Inman in October 2023, onto nearly four acres with a 9,000 square foot brewery, taproom and full restaurant. The building is a block north of Main.

The kitchen is not incidental. The kitchen is run by the owners of Spartanburg's Burgers and Bakery restaurant, which means a Friday night can start at the Pavilion, drift a block over to Prospect, and turn into dinner rather than a nightcap. Wednesday through Saturday hours run 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., with a Sunday close at 7:30 p.m., so the brewery is open before the concert opens the gate and stays open after the last band packs up.

The founder framed the intent this way when the space was still coming together:

"We really look forward to connecting with the downtown, too because we want the other businesses to grow. We just really want to grow this little town and try to help other businesses and connect us all together."

That is not marketing language you should take at face value, but the physical layout of the block backs it up. The brewery has seating for about 250 with plenty of open green space outside, and the ownership has said a concert stage is planned for that outdoor space in the future. When that arrives, the Friday loop compresses further.

The two Fridays worth blocking now

If you only mark two dates on the calendar, mark these.

The first is the Back 9 Band Friday, which runs alongside the Inman Ignites Car Show. That night doubles the reason to come downtown. The concert crowd and the car show crowd overlap on the same three blocks, so parking tightens earlier than usual and the Main Street restaurants fill sooner. If you like the show, get there at 5:30. If you want to eat first without a wait, plan a 4:45 sit-down.

The second is the June 26 closer with The Tams, which ends with a fireworks show. A beach music closer with fireworks is a different kind of night than a mid-June concert. It draws families who otherwise would not come out for a weekly concert, and it is the one Friday where the loop temporarily loses its walkability advantage because everyone else in Inman has the same idea. The move on that night is to be already in the loop by 6 p.m. rather than trying to arrive at 7.

The Tuesday that borrows the Friday geometry

One weekday event is worth flagging because it uses the same block. National Night Out is scheduled for August 4, 2026, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the City of Inman Pavilion, and Inman is holding its first one, bringing the community together with local first responders. That is a Tuesday, not a Friday, but the operating theory is the same address, the same three blocks, and the same dinner options a short walk away. If you skip the Pavilion entirely

Not every Friday in July or August will feature a concert you want to see, and the point of the loop is that it holds up even without the Pavilion in play. Downtown Inman now has a working weekend food scene of its own. The Yelp roster of Inman restaurants updated in June 2026 lists Old Town Pizza, Bowen's Landing, Lake Bowen Fish Camp, Holliday Brewing, Inman House Of Pizza, The Fox Den Pub & Grill, Inman Beer Vault, Cafe on Main, Pig Out BBQ, and Green Olive Grill. Four of those sit inside the loop itself:

• Cafe on Main for a slower lunch or early dinner before a concert.
• Old Town Pizza when the concert crowd pushes the wait too long everywhere else.
• The Fox Den Pub & Grill for the small-bar version of the same evening.
• Inman Beer Vault if you want a stop between the Pavilion and Holliday Brewing without doubling back.

Just outside the loop, on Asheville Highway, Dutton's Family Restaurant took over the building that Big Daddy's Drive-in occupied for nearly 30 years before it closed in 2023, and it is a five-minute drive rather than a walk. It is worth noting only because the Big Daddy's absence was the previous version of the Inman weekend gap that the downtown loop has now closed.

What this means if you already live here

The practical shift is small and specific. A Friday night no longer requires a plan that ends with driving. If you live within a few miles of downtown Inman, the loop is close enough that a golf cart works. The city allows golf carts within four miles of a registered address, on roads with posted speeds of 35 mph or less, during daylight hours only, and the driver must be at least 16 with a valid license. That last piece matters because the concert ends at 9, which is inside daylight hours in June and cuts close in August. If you take a cart, come home before dark.

The larger shift is that Inman now has a Friday night that competes with a Friday night in Greer or downtown Spartanburg on its own merits, not as a smaller-town substitute for either. A concert, a walkable dinner block, a full brewery a block away, and a fireworks closer on June 26 is not a substitute for anywhere else. It is its own reason to stay home.
